Prof. Vukosi Marivate is Director of the African Institute of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (AfriDSAI), ABSA UP Chair of Data Science and Professor of Computer Science at the University of Pretoria, where he leads the Data Science for Social Impact group. His research focuses on Machine Learning (ML), Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Natural Language Processing (NLP), particularly for African and other low-resource languages.
Prof. Dr. Süleyman Sevinç
Title: From Insight to Action: Agentic AI for Autonomous, Coordinated Healthcare Services
Prof. Dr. Süleyman Sevinç is an academic entrepreneur and founder and CEO of Labenko Bilişim A.Ş., Türkiye. He received his bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications and Electronics Engineering from Istanbul Technical University in 1983, followed by master’s and doctoral degrees in Computer Engineering from the University of Arizona in 1986 and 1988, respectively.

The 8th International Conference on Information and Communication Technology for Development for Africa (ICT4DA-2026), will take place in Bahir Dar, Ethiopia on Novemeber 27-29, 2026. ICT4DA-2026 aims to bring together researchers, engineers, developers, and practitioners from the academia and the industry to present and discuss their research work in the area of ICT for Development. This conference seeks to facilitate the transfer of experience, adaptation of methods, and where possible, foster collaboration among different groups.
